Guillemots
A little late to the scene, I know, but I have been completely obsessing over Guillemots lately. Like “The National status”-obsessed.
The indie rock band is composed of 4 members; Fyfe Dangerfield being the lead singer (his solo album Fly Yellow Moon is definitely worth checking out as well) and formed in 2004.
So far, they’ve released two albums, Through the Windowpane (2006), and Red (2008).
Both albums are so so so good from start to finish. Definitely something you can listen to the whole way through without feeling the need to skip tracks (and this is coming from someone who is very A.D.D. when it comes to listening to music, so trust me on this!).
Here are some of my favorites that are definitely worth checking out:
From Through the Windowpane:
1. We’re Here
2. If the World Ends (this one will bring tears to your eyes)
3. Trains to Brazil
4. Falling Over My Feet
5. Through the Windowpane
From Red:
1. Cockateels
2. Kriss Kross
3. Don’t Look Down
4. Get Over It
5. Words
Get to listening!

Again with the unfollows!

Apparently some folks find talk of tiredness and adorable indie weddings insufferable.
Oh, sorry for just DOIN ME over here.

Prince gets an automatic reblog. Everytime. Always. And I personally like indie weddings.

Prince turns 52, today!
We will be celebrating by concocting drinks (probably similar to a “Big K Spritzer”) and calling it “Purple Rain”, jamming to his hits, and stopping by the Flying Cupcake before the E.S.&.M.Z. show tomorrow night and lighting a candle on a delicious “purple” cupcake, in his honor. The disco ball might have to make an appearance for this one as well. Happy Birthday, “Partyman”!
